A brief history
Hello, it's me, Sunny. Today I am going to be telling you about Mid Night Club. Mid Night Club is a group of high speed dwellers who race on the Bayshore sen toll route. This route connects Tokyo and Yokohama. In order to join this fearsome band of racers, your car must be able to go at least 160 mph. One reason behind this was the fact that most cars are capable of reaching 190 mph. The club was formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1999. As mentioned by Jeremy Clarkson in an episode of old top gear he quoted how the R-32 he was driving would be more common to be seen in Mid Night Club.
The 'Hosaki Z' car
Famed cars driven by members of the club.
One of two of the most famed cars ever driven by members of Mid Night Club is a red 'Z' car built by a family to compete with a Porsche 911 Turbo. The 'Z' car produced over 680 horsepower which ran on a modified L30ETT. The other very much famous car driven was known as “BlackBird". Blackbird was a modified Porsche 911 that used its stock 3.6 litre flat 6 to produce over 700 bhp. The Porsche was officially clocked going 230 mph on the wangan. theoretically the car was able to go 270 mph.
Wangan midnight is a Japenese Manga/Anime inspired by the antics of Mid night club. The main characters drive a Datsun fairlady Z, A Porsche 911 known as "Blackbird" and an R-32.
Disbanding the club (bohoo 🙁 )
In 1999 a group of bikers challenged a group of racers to a race (duh). what they did not realise though, was that they had straddled into a heavy traffic zone. One biker swerved and crashed into a car, which caused a chain reaction of crashes. 7 people where injured and 2 bikers died. The club disbanded because if anyone was killed or injured, the club would stop and disband.
