It’s very possible, as someone from Road And Track has spotted a peculiar Dodge Charger test mule with noticeably wider tires. Is it just some random bloke trying to make his Charger Hellcat more grippy? Or is it the test drivers at Dodge/Chrysler trying out a 4-door Demon?
If it is indeed a Charger Demon, then here are a few things we know that it might have…
It’s going to have [much] more power.
Like the much teased Challenger Demon, the dodge charger test mule will definitely have more power than the Hellcat version. Speculating around 750 horsepower, or maybe even 800.
And it’ll also have more torque (obviously) then the Hellcat’s 650 LB-FT of torque, and to keep that immense power in check…
It will have wider tires.
As the Challenger Demon comes with 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R Drag Radials on 18×11 inch wheels (which were specifically designed for it), the 4-door Demon will probably come with the same, including new gears and torque converter to help send 35% more torque to the ground.
All of this means a quicker launch, a quicker 0-60 time, and quicker ¼ mile times.
Other Things This Monster Might Have…
As the Charger and Challenger share the same chassis, everything else on the Charger Demon might as well be the same, such as a race gas button, flared wheel arches, better aerodynamics, less weight, and a more cocky driver behind the wheel. But you shouldn’t be so hyped… Although this could be an actually test mule, it doesn’t mean that they’ll actually make it. But if it eventually does get officially announced and does go on sale, expect it to be teased many times, and to be revealed at the 2018 New York Auto Show Or 2018 Geneva Auto Show.
What do you think about this strange Charger with rather large wheels?
Do you think it’s a Demon being taken around town?
Or a random bloke with a fetish for wide wheels?
And if it is a Charger Demon, do you think it will make it to production?
Or will it die in Chrysler’s Idea Box?
