Rufly known as a video game substitute for Porsche, we all know and love RUF.
RUF have announced their first car to not be based off of the Porsche 911. But maybe that’s because Porsche’s liscencing contract with EA ended…
The new Pors… RUF, will be a sort of hard one for the designers since they were used to taking more inspiration from Porsches. They will still take inspiration from a car, a car of their own. The beautiful CTR ‘Yellowbird’.
And since it’s taking inspiration from a car that was one of the fastest cars in the world, and did a flying lap (get it?) at the Nurburgring with ballsy drifts and slides, and RUF says that it will be pretty light-weight because of a unique carbonfibre structure. this means that it should be incredibly fast.
Okay, you’re probably wondering why there aren’t any pictures of this new RUF, and there is a good reason for that, they haven’t been released yet. But it will make an interesting debut at the Geneva motor show, which is probably why they told us so late.
Another reason why we think that it’s going to be something of brilliance and beauty is due to some of the cars that have recently been dished out by RUF. Such as the mind-bogglingly fast CTR 3 Clubsport, the powerful af RTR, and the stunningly beautiful Turbo Florio. This is proof that RUF really knows what they’re doing, so they really shouldn’t mess up at all with this one.
The RUF CTR 3 Clubsport is the finest example of what they can do. 767 bhp and 720 lb·ft of torque from a 3.8 L flat-six-cylinder engine. Hot damn. So expect a light-weight, two door sports car with a turbo-charged 3.8 litre 6-cylinder/V8 motor with around 600 BHP, and a lot of torque for the brand-new RUF…
What do you think will be revealed at the Geneva motorshow? An ugly, whale of a beast? Or a beautiful, Grand Tourer? Well, comment your thoughts in the comment section, and we’ll see who’s right!
