You know those drifting videos what you occasionally come across on YouTube thich have absolutely insane budgets – twice the size of your lifetime earnings. Yeah, the one’s which take more thought, effort and planning than most blockbuster movies.
Well, check out these five crazy-ass videos which do just that…
Yes. That is a rear-wheel-drive V12 Lamborghini Murcielago. Sideways.
When Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Mr. Daigo Saito get together for a spot of light drifting, the results are always spectacular. Add in a truck with a couple of lights, a Liberty Walk Lambo and an “abandoned Russian village” and you’ve got automotive heaven.
2) Mad Mike – Conquer The Cape
Mad Mike, the slightly, hmm, mad New Zealender, is famous for doing absolutely wonderful things with rotaries. Things like an RX-8 with a turbocharged 20B 3-rotor making more than 800 horsepower at the rear wheels.
Apart from the slightly cheesy plot, and the terrible music, this video does a very good job of showing us just what’s possible with the RX-8, which isn’t the most common drift car in the world. More common than a Murcielago, and no where near as surprising as damn limousine.
3) It’s Riga Baby
When Drift Allstars make their annual trip to Latvia, the results are absolutely wonderful. With the best drifters in Europe all competing on one hell of a track, and also getting to have a ‘little fun’ on public roads.
This video shows it all. Oh, and it’s got James Deane and Piotr Wieçek in it. You might have heard those names recently. That’s because they’re competing in Formula D this season.
4) Bring Back The Touge
A slight downgrade in terms of the car, but not in anything else.
This Toyota Cressida only has 200bhp. But that doesn’t matter to Fredrik Sørlie. He still manages to get it nice and sideways. Also, there’s a Mercedes ML AMG with a Russian Arm stuck on top of it, which is a sight worth seeing in itself.
5) Kamikaze Dive Gunsai Attack
Wow. Just wow.
Countless S-chassis’, AE86s and probably far more besides, drifting, together, down a tight twisty road through a forest and, on a couple of occasions, getting a little close to the camera. Does it get any better than this?
So, which video is your favourite? Or is there another one out there that I’ve never heard of that’d you like to share with us? Let us know down in the comments!
